Shira MacLeod
Shira came to London at 17
and studied at Roehampton Institute obtaining a BA Hons in Dance and English
Literature from Surrey University. She worked as a
professional dancer for 10 years supporting her income with work as a
photographer and a casting assistant.
She then went on to be the Festival
Coordinator for Dance Umbrella for two years, assisting Ed Lewis who
set up Riverside Studios Cinema for a number of years. When he died suddenly, Shira took over his position as Cinema Director and ran the cinema for 11 years
until its closure for redevelopment in August this year.
She also worked for the
Umbria Film Festival and programmed the cinema at the Arnolfini in Bristol.
