Kefi Chadwick
Kefi Chadwick’s first feature, Looted, (BBC/BFI/Film London) won the prestigious International Critics Award at Tallin at 2019 and has sold for UK and European distribution. It was longlisted at for seven BIFA awards including Best Debut Screenwriter and Best Screenwriter and was nominated for the Discovery Award 2020. She is adapting her play, Any Means Necessary, (Wellington films/BFI) for the screen. Sandra Goldbacher will direct. The script was shortlisted for the prestigious Sundance Writers’ Lab and won a Creative Europe MEDIA award. It also secured her the BFI/iwriter Writers’ Award. She recently co-wrote a modern gender reversed adaptation of Tolstoy’s The Devil with director, Tom Geens (BFI/Bankside) which will shoot early next year She is under commission with Sky Cinema for Toxic, her film inspired by the true story of Porton Down. She is developing a new feature, Inheritance, with Savannah James-Bayly and The Bureau inspired by her time on the EIFF Ideas Lab 2019.
Kefi is writing for Romesh Ranganathan’s new series, Avoidance, on BBC One. She wrote and script edited across all six episodes of Channel 4/Hulu’s comedy, Maxxx. She has comedy and drama TV projects in development with Noho/ITV, VAL, Ranga Bee/Channel 4, Tiger Lily and Urban Myths.
