James Floyd

BIFA winner, James Floyd, is one of Britain’s fast rising actors.
Recently selected as a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit 2013 and last year a
Screen International Star of Tomorrow, he received huge acclaim for
his breakout starring role in Sundance & Berlin winner My Brother The Devil, including winning Best Newcomer at last year’s
British Independent Film Awards. He also received Best Actor at Milan
Film Festival and was nominated at 2013 Evening Standard Film Awards.
The Daily Telegraph called his performance ‘reminiscent of Robert De
Niro.’

Previous
films include the lead in Everywhere & Nowhere, The Infidel along side Matt Lucas and Richard Schiff, and Pathé’s comedy
Tormented with Tuppence Middleton. On TV he played Freddie Mercury
in BAFTA winning The Best Possible Taste for BBC, starred along
side Ray Winstone in ITV’s Compulsion, and in Falcon for Sky
Atlantic with Marton Csokas and Hayley Atwell.  His critically
acclaimed roles in theatre include Dov & Ali, Antigone at Hell’s
Mouth
and The Glass Cage directed by Laurie Sansom, for which
The Independent named him ‘a star in the making’.  


Upcoming
films include Rearview along side Antonia Thomas. James is
currently attached to star in two independent films, and writing his
first screenplay.
