J Blakeson
J Blakeson is an English director, screenwriter and producer. His first feature film, THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALICE CREED, was a neo-noir hit which earned a “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes, three foreign remakes, and high praise at the Toronto International Film Festival. Cameron Bailey, co-director of Tiff, claimed “Not since Reservoir Dogs has a hostage standoff been handled with such intelligence.” In 2016, Blakeson directed THE 5th WAVE, based the beloved novel of the same name, which grossed $110 million worldwide. He is best known for writing and directing I CARE A LOT, which was a big hit for Netflix, earned critical praise and won Rosamund Pike a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical. Variety compared Blakeson’s directing to that of Alfred Hitchcock: “he takes his time and has you hanging on every moment.” Blakeson is currently the showrunner and director of the crime thriller series CULPRITS, currently showing on Disney+ in the UK and releasing on Hulu (US) in early December.
