Imelda Staunton

Imelda Staunton is an English stage and screen actress. After training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, she began her career in repertory theater in the 1970s before appearing in seasons at various theatres in the UK.

Staunton drew critical acclaim for the title role in the 2004 film Vera Drake, for which she won the BAFTA Award and BIFA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role and was nominated for the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Actress as well. She has also appeared in Nanny McPhee, two of the Harry Potter films and in Pride, for which she won the BIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress and received a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
