Gemma Arterton

Since 2007, Gemma Arterton has garnered an Empire Film award for ‘Best Newcomer’ and a nomination for the ‘Orange Rising Star’ award at this year’s BAFTAs. Upcoming works include: Gretel in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters; Song for Marion; and Byzantium. Recent films include  Tamara Drewe; Clash of the Titans, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, The Disappearance of Alice Creed; The Boat that Rocked; Quantum of Solace; RocknRolla; Three and Out and St Trinian’s, for which she was nominated for an Empire Award and won a National Movie Award. Gemma’s portrayal of Tess in the BBC television adaptation of Tess of the D’Urbervilles earned her rave reviews and award nominations. Other TV roles include: Elizabeth Bennet in Lost in Austen and Liza in Sephen Poliakoff’s Capturing Mary. Gemma’s theatre work includes Douglas Carter Beane’s The Little Dog Laughed, Henrik Ibsen’s The Master Builder and Love Labour’s Lost at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.

She has two BIFA nominations: the first for Best Supporting Actress for The Girl with All the Gifts in 2016 and the second for Best Actress for The Escape in 2018.
