Frances O’Connor
Writer/director and actress FRANCES O’CONNOR’s directorial debut film EMILY, premiered to rave reviews at TIFF. Described as “a thrillingly unconventional watch” – EMILY is a stunning, imaginative period drama starring Emma Mackey (Sex Education), who plays Emily Brontë, the author of Wuthering Heights.
Frances first made waves starring in Miramax’s Jane Austen adaptation of MANSFIELD PARK the British romantic dramedy. She’s worked with Steven Spielberg, starring in A.I. ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE, won an Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts award for Best Actress in a Leading role for her performance in the drama BLESSED. In the TV space, O’Connor has been nominated for Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a miniseries for her performances in Madame Bovary (BBC) and The Missing (BBC/Starz). Most recently, she received rave reviews for lead performance in the Showtime dark comedy THE END where she starred opposite Harriet Walker as a struggling mother aiming to mend her relationship with her own mother.
