Emma E. Hickox, a.c.e.
Emma’s background is rooted firmly in the film business; she has
followed in her mother Anne V Coates’ (Lawrence of Arabia, The
Elephant Man, Erin Brokovich) distinguished footsteps as an editor
and her father was cult film director Douglas Hickox (Theatre Of
Blood, Entertaining Mr Sloane, Zulu Dawn). She began her editing
career in Los Angeles working as an assistant and 2nd editor on films
such as Bird On A Wire, The Hard Way and Mr Jones. She started
cutting independently in 1992 and has not stopped since then. In 2001
she decided to return to the UK and continue her cutting career in the
creative haven of the British film industry. She is on the Advisory
Committee for the British Independent Film Awards and gives talks
about editing as well as continuing to cut both features and TV. Her
credits include: The Boat That Rocked, Becoming Jane, Rock of Ages,
Blue Crush, The Edge Of Love, Kinky Boots, and The Jacket.
