Anna Friel

Anna most recently filmed the lead role in Hans Rosenfeldt’s (The Bridge) first ever UK television drama Marcella. Before this she shot Tomato Red, with Oscar nominated director Juanita Wilson and I.T. opposite Pierce Brosnan. A previous role saw Anna as the lead in Peter Horton’s American Odyssey for NBC which aired last year on BBC2 as well as WW2 drama Heavy Water War. Anna was seen in the Summer 2015 release Good People for Henrik Ruben Genz opposite James Franco and Kate Hudson and upcoming releases include US ghost comedy Master Cleanse as well as gritty UK feature Urban from Bernard Hare’s bestselling book of the same name. Other recent work includes Showtime pilot The Vatican for director Ridley Scott and Michael Winterbottom’s The Look of Love. She stole the notices for the critically-acclaimed Christopher Hampton adaptation of Uncle Vanya in London’s West End in 2014 and managed to fit in The Pavement Psychiatrist with Idris Elba for Sky Arts. In 2012, Anna graced the UK small screen in the harrowing 3-part thriller Without You from Prime Suspect team Sally Head Productions and Downton Abbey producer, Nigel Marchant, and in the hard-hitting two hour probation service drama Public Enemies. This followed fantasy drama Sky Movies Neverland as hard-nosed Pirate Queen Elizabeth Bonny. Other big screen performances include Limitless, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, London Boulevard. This followed a critically-acclaimed performance and a sell-out run as Holly Golightly in the new stage adaptation of Breakfast at Tiffany’s at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London’s West End. In 2008, Anna received a Best Actress Golden Globe nomination for her work on ABC’s critically-acclaimed series Pushing Daisies.
