Amina Dasmal
Amina Dasmal is half-Emirati and half-British. She studied film in Los Angeles, and then established Alcove Entertainment with Robin Fox in 2005. She produced Avi Korine and Richard Ayoade’s The Double, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska, directed by Richard Ayoade. The film was released in the UK by StudioCanal in 2013 and Mia’s performance was nominated for a BIFA. Amina continues to develop projects with Richard. Prior to this she produced Harmony Korine’s award-winning Trash Humpers and Matthew Parkhill’s The Caller, starring Rachelle Lefevre and Stephen Moyer. The films were shot on location in Nashville and Puerto Rico respectively. Her first film, Cochochi, co-produced with Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna’s company Canana, won the Discovery Award at TIFF together with many other debut awards around the world.
