Nine new award categories announced including Cinematography, Editing and Casting
Ceremony set for Sunday 10 December
We are excited to announce nine new award categories dedicated exclusively to craft and technical disciplines in British filmmaking:
- Best Casting
- Best Cinematography
- Best Costume Design
- Best Editing
- Best Effects
- Best Make-Up & Hair Design
- Best Music
- Best Production Design
- Best Sound
The nominees in these categories will be decided by a specially-convened ‘Craft’ subgroup of BIFA voters, with film professionals of all disciplines having a say alongside craftspeople. The nominees will be announced alongside the other BIFA nominations in early November, and the winners will be announced a short while before the BIFA ceremony in early December.
With nine new craft categories, we believe that we are much better-placed to recognize the wealth of exceptional British talent behind the camera, and many more craftspeople will benefit from the boost that a BIFA nomination or win can give to their career.
