THE ROLE
The British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) is an annual award ceremony celebrating the best in independently made British film. The Awards have a particular focus on highlighting the most promising new filmmaking talent emerging in the UK and supporting the development of those individuals. BIFA also coordinates an extensive suite of talent development training for emerging filmmakers, including the Springboard Programme, and ED&I training courses. As well as the annual award ceremony, BIFA promotes independent film to audiences all year round. This role will support the ongoing expansion of that activity on social media (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook) and via The BIFA Podcast.
In celebration of its 25th anniversary, BIFA are looking for an Archive Assistant to join our small but busy team to assist in organising the extensive BIFA archive. We are looking for a bright, motivated and highly organised individual to help to bring BIFA’s rich history to life. The role will support our work by organising existing video and photography content, and preparing systems and processes to support content capture for the 2022 Awards.
This is the ideal role for someone who is passionate about curating and preserving content to share independent film with the world. You will be a resourceful self-starter who is willing to experiment with different processes to achieve results. You’ll need to be knowledgeable about UK independent film, and have some experience working in a marketing environment.
The role will also help to support the marketing team with ad hoc tasks as we approach the 2022 Awards season.
