Introducing British Indie Film Club, a limited podcast series with Little White Lies

Wednesday, June 14, 2023

Ears at the ready. BIFA is back with a new limited podcast series, in partnership with Little White Lies. The show, hosted by Leila Latif and Karis Aldridge, is all about celebrating the past, present and future of independent British cinema. Specifically, we’re looking back over the last 25 years of British film to coincide with BIFA’s 25th anniversary. Each episode, we’ll be asking a special guest from the world of British film to pick a film from the BIFA archives to discuss – and we’ll also learn about their own career in film.

In the first episode, we sit down with award-winning actor, writer and director Samantha Morton, recipient of BIFA’s 2022 Richard Harris Award, which recognises an Outstanding Contribution by an Actor. She tells us all about breaking into the industry, and why she loves Ken Loach’s stirring social drama from 1994, Ladybird Ladybird.

If you’re already a Truth & Movies subscriber, you’ll automatically get episodes of British Indie Film Club in your feed. If not, then simply listen and subscribe via Acast or wherever you get your podcasts.
