BIFA and FILMD announce partnership to support Springboard programme
FILMD offers a collaboration platform and financial support to filmmakers
BIFA are excited to announce a new partnership with FILMD, the new collaboration platform for filmmakers from Craig Roberts and Craig Heyworth.
On FILMD you can create projects; search for filmmakers to collaborate with – both locally and nationally; manage your production team, schedules, documents and communications; create opportunities for fellow cast, crew and creatives to join your production, or apply for opportunities in other productions; send direct messages; post on the community feed, forums and feature lists; save profiles; apply for grants, and watch peers’ films on the Screening Room.
FILMD has already completed two rounds of grant giving for filmmakers, to help support creatives gain access to financial support.
FILMD is supporting the BIFA Springboard programme, hosting a homepage for the current cohort, housing recordings and transcriptions from previous sessions, a discussion board to stay connected, useful documents, fellow Springboard member profiles and a calendar for upcoming sessions and events. Use of FILMD will be free of charge to Springboard participants, and then further discounted following their time on the programme.
‘FILMD and BIFA’s partnership will bring new filmmakers together and it will help established filmmakers create more and exciting work’
– Craig Heywoth, FILMD co-founder
We sat down with Craig and Craig to discuss how FILMD can support filmmakers, and the importance of independent film and storytelling.
