BIFA are delighted to announce
that Idil Sukan will once again be the official photographer at the annual Moët British Independent Film Awards, to take
place on December 9th at Old Billingsgate, London. To mark BIFA’s 15th
Anniversary, she will also be taking a special photograph of previous BIFA
winners and jurors.
Idil, has established herself as one of the most exciting new photographic
talents in the UK. Her previous work has included photographing a range of talent
from John Malkovich and Art Malik to Benedict Cumberbatch and JLS. In the last
two years, she has also been selected as an official photographer for the
Edinburgh Festival Fringe, whilst her work has featured in press across the
world including The Guardian, New York Times and the Nikon Magazine. One of
Idil’s shots is also the album cover for Rebecca Ferguson’s best-selling album
‘Heaven’.
Idil is also Creative Director of West London creative production house Draw
HQ, working with the likes of Universal,
EMI, Sony and Disney.
The BIFAs are one of the most anticipated events on the UK film calendar, with
the winners decided by an independent jury made up of leading film
professionals. James Nesbitt will host proceedings this year, and nominees in
2012 include Meryl Streep, Judi Dench and Olivia Colman. Jude Law and Sir
Michael Gambon will receive The Variety Award and the Richard Harris Award respectively.
