DIRECTORS OF 2024 RELEASES HOARD, KNEECAP, UNICORNS AND TUESDAY MAKE NEW TALENT LONGLISTS
The British Independent Film Awards’ (BIFA) 2024 filmmaker new talent longlists have been released and include 31 stand-out British features, with 20 fiction and 11 documentary features landing across four debut filmmaking categories.
BIFA’s hotly anticipated longlists highlight 13 first-time fiction feature directors, 16 first-time feature documentary directors, 11 first-time writers and 19 breakthrough producers recognised by BIFA voters this year for their outstanding achievements.
Today’s announcement follows yesterday’s release of the 2024 longlist for Breakthrough Performance sponsored by Netflix, which spotlights twelve remarkable British actors in their breakout role in a British feature film.
The final five nominees in all categories will be announced on Tuesday 5 November. Winners will be revealed at the BIFA awards ceremony on Sunday 8 December, which sees BIFA return to Camden’s iconic Roundhouse for its 27th edition.
