A young woman goes to the police to report her husband for domestic abuse, but rather than finding the relief she longs for, she faces a gruelling interrogation. She is just about to lose her cool, when it is revealed that this is in fact an audition. We are not in a police station, but a beautifully decorated room – with high ceilings and wood-panelled walls – with an actor, director, and casting director. Lily is the one performing, and she seems at home in this environment, comfortable in the back and forth, well-known to the people in charge. However, as the director insists on new ways to interpret the character, it seems to take the role further and further out of reach.
